What we’re about
Georgetown Rough Riders is a small and limited group of passionate male mountain bikers that seek community with each other through a shared love of rigorous mountain biking. We typically bike the physically intense trails around Lake Georgetown -- although we also like to mix it up -- which generally requires fully suspended bikes and an intermediate level riding experience. We meet once a week for a great mountain bike workout and then socialize after over dinner and drinks at an area eatery.
Some of our members have been riding with the group for over 20 years, while others are new to us. Member ages range from mid-20's to 50's and everything in-between. Mostly we're family men doing the heavy lifting of raising children and pursuing challenging careers in the Georgetown area. Honestly, as great as the mountain biking is, the connections we make are even better.
Once a year we identify an amazing mtb area within reasonable driving distance and explore some of the best mountain biking our country has to offer. Past trips have included Big Bend Ranch State Park, Bentonville, Arkansas and Crested Butte, CO.
We all lead complicated lives and can't always meet every week. So we want to increase our over-all number to 20 so we consistently have about 5-8 to participate in our weekly ride.
