What we’re about

This group will focus on bringing singles together to have drama-free fun! If you are looking for drama, there are other groups you can join but you won't find drama here. If you want to create drama, you won't be in this group for long. But, if you are looking to meet mature and fun people, this is the group for you!

This is the group formerly known as Wilco Singles 50-62 formed by Denise early in 2024. With her permission I will keep the group going for at least a few more months!

The goal of this group is to create opportunities for singles to meet, have fun, and get to know one another and, hopefully, to not be single anymore! It seems to me that a singles group should be trying to eliminate members in a sense.

Here's the process:

  1. Singles join the group.
  2. Singles attend events and meet new people.
  3. Over time, the singles become couples. Or not...that is up to you!
  4. The couples tell friends about the group so new singles join the group to keep it going.
  5. Occasionally, the couple dissolves in a mature way and rejoins the group without bringing any drama with them. This is actually possible with mature people!

Mature isn't the same as old! You can be old and not be mature. We all know some of those folks. Likewise, being mature doesn't mean you are old. My all-time favorite saying is "you don't stop playing because you get old, you get old because you stop playing!"

As for fun, I am open to suggestions. If you make a suggestion, be prepared to help make it happen in some way! Great ideas aren't worth the breath to speak them if you're not committed enough to give some effort to make it reality.

Last but not least, in this mature and fun group, your commitment level matters. If you RSVP, show up! If you are not going to RSVP, leave the group! Not sorry if that seems harsh...I learned from Yoda 40 years ago..."Do. Or do not. There is no 'try'!"

I hope you will help me make this the best singles group in the Austin area. In order to do this we must:

  • Commit to the process
  • Keep drama out of the group
  • Focus on fun
  • Be mature AND playful

I look forward to meeting ALL of you soon,
Mike
