Luxembourg (& a bit of Germany): Xmas Markets, Hiking & Wineries.

Luxembourg is often overlooked amongst Europe's famous destinations. Time to put that right on a long weekend enjoying not only the Xmas markets and UNESCO Old Town of the capital, but also travelling out to the beautiful countryside for some hiking and wine tasting in the Moselle Valley.
We will also visit Trier in Germany to enjoy their markets, magnificent cathedral and Roman sights.
With everything included except flights (and they are cheap) let's enjoy a stress-free, convivial weekend together.

The Itinerary (subject to change)

Thu 5 Dec
From 6pm, we can visit the city to admire the architecture and enjoy the 'Winterlights'. We can visit the best Xmas markets on a small festive crawl, followed by drinks in a recommended bar. Expect plenty of vin choud and Gromperekichelcher (mulled wine and potato pancakes) and various other goodies amongst the myriads of lights and stalls.

Fri 6 Dec
Today we will take the train out to the countryside and enjoy a 3-hour hike (medium level, subject to weather) enjoying forests, fields, rivers and ending on the Moselle river.
We can then take the bus a short journey to a nearby winery where we will have a short tour and enjoy 3 types of sparkling wine special to this region.
The early evening gives you some free time to sample more markets in the city, find a place to eat and join me for drinks later.

Sat 7 Dec
Today we will take the fast train across the border to Trier, well known for not only it's traditional German Xmas market, but also a rich Roman history and charming Old Town. Afternoon return to enjoy our last night back in Luxemburg City.

Sun 8 Dec
Depending on flights, you have free time to visit any specific attractions in the city or we can have last food and drinks together at the markets.

The total cost of the trip will be £325. You’ll need to pay a £10 deposit via PayPal when you RSVP to reserve your place. After this the balance of £315 will be payable within 2 weeks.

Note: Meetup will charge £1.62 to attendees on sign up. You may also pay the £10 deposit to the bank account below for free and I will RSVP you myself (email me first).

Note: If you require a single room for the discount price of £70 (non-refundable discount), you will need to let me know first and after confirmation, make your full payment of £385 to secure this.

• 3 nights accommodation in a 3-star hotel at the airport (sharing a same-sex twin bedroom). There is an all-day, quick, free bus to the city and back:)
• All public transport inc. the train to Trier.
• Casual walks around Luxembourg city and Trier and evening pub/food crawls options.
• 3 hour hike in the countryside (weather permitting).
• Visits to the best Xmas markets in Luxembourg and Trier.
• Private sparkling wine tasting in a winery in the Moselle valley.
• Entry to sights in Trier.

The price doesn’t include:
