G-O Hike: Duder Regional Park

Hi Get-Outsiders! Let's enjoy a day out at Duder Regional Park.
We will start our day at Woolworths Greenlane at 8.30am, leaving to drive to Duder at 8.45am. We expect to arrive at Duder by 9.30am.
Plan for the day:
• Walk the Farm Loop Walk and Whakakaiwhara Pā Walk (3 hour walk) with a stop along the way to eat a snack/lunch (bring your own packed food).
• After finishing the walk we can either spend some time chilling at the park, or head to Maraetai for a swim and/or icecream.
Bring packed lunch, drinking water (at least 2 litres), sunhat, sunscreen, walking shoes, suitable clothing for the weather, raincoat, togs and towel, jandals (for at the beach only).
Please note NO DOGS are allowed on this trip due to park restrictions.
• Distance from CBD: 48km to Duder Regional Park.
• Meet Up Time: 8.30am meet up outside Countdown Greenlane, we will be leaving no later than 8.45am.
• Difficulty Rating: Moderate - some steep climbs.
• Suitability: Suitable for people with reasonable fitness.
• Completion time: We expect to finish the walk by 1pm. Leaving time for a stop at Maraetai on the way back we will be back at Countdown Greenlane by no later than 3.30pm.
• Footwear: Proper walking/hiking footwear please. Jandals are not suitable for the hike, but bring them for the beach if you want.
• Drinking Water: Please bring your own.
• Toilets: There are public toilets at the start/end point of the walk.
• RSVP to this event: Please only RSVP Yes to this event if you are genuinely intending on coming. If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend please change RSVP asap to allow other people the chance to attend. Once available spaces are full for the event there is a waiting list option you can join. If you RSVP and don't show up or contact us, it will be treated as a 'No Show'.
• Cellphone Coverage: May be patchy in places.

MAIN DETAILS:-
• Parking: Plenty of parking at Duder, if you are leaving your car at Greenlane you will need to park on the street.
• Meet: Meet at Countdown Greenlane (by the front entrance) before heading off in cars - please indicate when you RSVP whether you will be bringing a car or whether you need a lift.
• Duration: The walk itself is 3 hours of walking - aiming to be finished the walk by 1pm and be back at Countdown by no later than 3.30pm after a beach/snack/drink stop.
• Transport/Car Pooling: If you can offer rides to people or wish to request a ride please mention this under the 'Conversation' section below and contact each other from there.
• Costs: Free event, however we suggest you contribute towards petrol costs for your driver (recommended $5-10 per person to cover petrol).
