G-O Silent this Christmas: Group Walk up One Tree Hill!

Hi guys! Come join a SILENT walk up One Tree Hill for Christmas 2024!

IMPORTANT NOTES & UPDATES:-

• Meet Up Time: 9am, finishing by 11am from Stardome, Cornwall Park

• SILENT WALK - Please note that after the initial introductions this is going to be a SILENT walk. Given everyone is aware that this is going to be silent, we will be asking people to respect this so that others who have come expecting silence can feel appreciated. Thank you for understanding. We try and keep the Group silent for those who attend, so if you insist on making a noise while you attend you may be asked to leave.

• Difficulty Rating: Moderate (some climbing and medium paced walking involved)

• Suitability: Suitable for people with reasonable fitness.

• Completion time: We will finish by 11am.

• Footwear: Walking shoes are advised.

• Drinking Water: Please bring your own.

• Toilets: Available along the walk

• RSVP to this event: Please only RSVP Yes to this event if you are genuinely intending on coming. If your circumstances change and you are unable to attend please change RSVP asap to allow other people the chance to attend. Once available spaces are full for the event there is a waiting list option you can join. If you RSVP and don't show up or contact us, it will be treated as a 'No Show'. If you 'No Show' you will NOT be allowed to special events in the future and may be banned from the group.

• Cellphone Coverage: Cell phone coverage is present.

• Animal and other precautions: There is the usual NZ wildlife along our walk (possums and birds, not bears). Please advise us of any allergies/other health precautions you may need to take. If you are prone to anaphylaxis, please bring your OWN Epipen, and advise the event organizer in advance.

• Transport/Car Pooling: If you can offer rides to people or wish to request if you can carpool with someone then you can mention this under the chat group and contact each other from there.

• Bring: Drinking water, sun cream, clean and sturdy footwear suitable for walking. And bring your passion for silence in the outdoors! :)

• Weather: You can check latest weather updates on www.metservice.com.I will also check the weather forecast day before the hike and update everyone. If the weather looks miserable, then the event may be rescheduled to a different weekend. I will try to advise two days in advance at the least.

• Costs: This is a FREE event.
