Let's enjoy a nice hike in Hazel Country.
Note: There will be four crossings of the Hazel River on this hike. These crossings can be tricky at times, so please be prepared with your preferred method for crossing streams.
There will be an optional tailgate in the parking lot at the end of the hike. If you want to participate, bring your chair, beverage of choice and a snack at your discretion.
Parking: Meadow Spring Parking
Hike: Hazel Mtn & Hazel River Circuit hike
Hike Description - Starting from the Meadow Spring Parking Area we will take the Hazel Mountain Trail, passing the White Rocks Trail to our left. We will continue on the Hazel Mountain Trail to the junction of the Sam's Ridge Trail. We will descend on the Sam's Ridge Trail to the junction with the Hazel River Trail. We will turn left on the Hazel River Trail. We will continue on the Hazel River Trail to the junction with the White Rocks Trail. We will have a steep climb up to the ridgeline and multiple ridgeline views. We will hike to the junction with the spur trail down to Hazel River Falls. We will descend the spur trail to the beautiful falls. After enjoying the falls, we will climb back up to the White Rocks Trail and continue to the intersection with the Hazel Mountain Trail where we will turn right and return to our cars.

Weather: If inclement weather necessitates canceling or postponing the hike, the decision will be made no later than 7:00AM - cancellations will be posted on the hike comments section. Steady rain with not much chance of clearing and/or dangerous conditions will call for postponing the hike.
RSVP: If you find that you are NOT going to be able to attend the hike, please update your RSVP to “No” as soon as possible. This allows those on the waitlist to have the opportunity to attend.
Recommended items - Broken in Hiking Boots, Trekking Poles, Lunch/Snacks, 2-3 Liters of Water, Good Day Pack, Layers of Clothing for Colder Weather
