Winchester Cathedral Christmas Market

Details

Please join me in exploring Winchester Cathedral's Christmas Market, renowned for being one of the best in Europe (we hope!) and also take in the sights of Winchester Cathedral at this special time of year.

The Market is open 10.00 am to 8.00 pm on a Saturday, so we could get there late morning and spend the afternoon wandering around the artisan stalls and enjoying the ambience of a festive season on the horizon, staying to see the place lit up if we want to.

We can stop for coffee throughout the day at some of the unique food halls that will be there, and treat ourselves to an early "Christmas" lunch as we wander around.

There's no set plan for the day. We just turn up and wander either in a group/smaller groups or individually, perhaps meeting up every now and then to tell others what we've found that may be of interest.

There is park&ride available if anyone wants to drive. Train travel is also an option and prices for a return journey are coming out at around £30-35 (that's without railcard or other concessions you might get). Please be aware that prices for rail travel may vary nearer the time.

Details of where to meet will be published nearer the time, but likely it'll be at the statue of King Alfred as it's a good landmark, being a couple of minutes' walk away from the Market.
