Hello all,

Here's some updated information about the group from Vanessa and me.

Starting now, since it's the beginning of this month, we will expect cancelations to be done in a more timely manner.

This obviously depends on the type of event this is. If it is a Special type event, we need you to cancel at least 12 hours prior to the event. If it is an event that is more casual, you need to cancel 2 hours before the event.

We definitely understand life happens and there may be times where you are unable to come, even if it's last minute. However, we have been receiving a lot of cancelations due to trivial reasons (didn't feel like, etc.). Most importantly, if you don't plan on going and know it, please have the courtesy to cancel rather than no show. It's disrespectful to the event hosts.

The reason for all of this is due to several past events where the hosts took time to plan the event and contact the location to expect a large group. A recent event saw 6 out of 21 people attend, with 13 cancelations and 2 no shows. This makes our hosts look bad and unreliable and negatively impacts the place that may call in extra staff, etc. And it discourages hosts from planning fun things to do. We want this group to be successful and a place to meet new friends.

If you cancel a special event after the time limit, you will be given a strike.  If you do this 3 times, you will be removed from the group and you can rejoin again in 3 months.

No showing ANY event is a strike. Again. 3 strikes and you're out. You can rejoin in 3 months.
