There are extensive views from the higher parts of the walk north over Ben Ledi and Loch Venachar, south over the Lake of Menteith to the Fintry hills and west towards Ben Venue.

The walk start point is at GR617047 on the A81 where there are two small parking spaces on either side of the road with only limited parking available.

The route is quite rough and steep and boggy in places so gaiters are advised.
