Local Walk: Meriden and Corley Moor (Warws)
To enrich your Saturday, this is another nice new route in the North Warwickshire area, called Middle England due to furthest distance from the coast.
Logistics:
Meet: 10:00 for prompt 10:15 start.
Distance: Around 9 miles
Start Point: Outside Meriden Church, Church Lane, Meriden, CV7 7HX
Parking: Either on village side roads, such as Old Road near the Queens Head pub (cv7 7jp), or outside Meriden Church itself if space permits.
Terrain: Easy going local tracks and farmland, skirting Birchley Hays Wood and Elkin Wood, and a stretch of the Heart of England Way
Refreshments: Bring fluids & picnic lunch, and also a pub stop at mid distance and optionally to finish.

Cost is £13 per head please email me if you want to come and I will send you details of how to pay. To be booked on you must have paid the £13. You cannot pay on the day.
It is first come first served. When it is full it is full.
To keep costs down we will have a sharing table so bring a food contribution for everyone to share. (basically, whatever you would like to eat with a bit extra to share cold buffet style food only)

Roving Pub Quiz South Birmingham
We have a regular team quiz at THE ACTRESS AND BISHOP in St Paul's Birmingham over a relaxing drink or two. This venue also does Fine Ales, Food, and. So team up with other members, £3 entry, cash prizes.
This quiz is device based, so no pen and paper, and no cheating! We tend to visit on the 1st Monday of each month for a casual gathering, and possibly on intervening weeks if there is demand. Great Fun!

GO: Birdwatching for Beginners (Sandwell Valley)
Some suggest we should hold more midweek daytime events for those who are free then (rather than say in the evenings or weekends).
This is a short social walk around the nature reserve with plenty of stops to admire the birds and other creatures around the lake and surrounding habitat, assisted and enlightened by your RSPB volunteer tour guide. So let's combine a hobby with exercise and fresh air!

Birdwatching Walk: Runs from 10:30 to 12:30
Cost: Just £5.75 (cash or card) including hire of binoculars if required, or £4.75 for RSPB members.
Prebooking: Although this was unnecessary last year, and you could just turn up at 10am to pay on the day, this is no longer the case, due to previous attendance volatility. This event must now be pre-booked online, and due to popularity, you should book well in advance.

GO: Sutton Coldfield Christmas Markets 2024
The very first Christmas Markets in Sutton Coldfield, for those who've seen the Birmingham version before, or would like to try both! (we're visiting the Birmingham Xmas Markets on Nov-4th incidentally).
Meet at The Station Pub at around 6:30 (6pm to 6.45 please) and at 7pm we'll promptly head off to look around for an hour or two. We will reconvene at The Gate Pub at 8:30 or whenever we've seen enough.
We'll aim to pick up some street food snacks and warming drinks along the way, though it isn't clear yet exactly what stalls will be available. For more information see this announcement link:
