Details
GRADE: Beginners hike, 18km (11 miles), 192m ascent, approx 5 hours hiking.
This is a linear hike, starting from Henley-on-Thames in South Oxfordshire and ending in Marlow in scenic Buckinghamshire. Henley is one of the most beautiful towns in England, surrounded by the woodlands of Chiltern Hills which was designated in 1965 as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Starting from Henley-on-Thames we follow Thames Path and visit picturesque Hambleden village, famous for its church which dates back over 1000 years. We then follow Shakespeare's Way and explore the woods of Chiltern Hills and finish our hike in scenic Marlow, a vibrant Georgian market town set amongst the rich meadows of the river valley famous for its historic streets, restaurants and a suspension bridge, where we celebrate the finish of the hike in a traditional pub of 16th century, a proper way to finish a hike!
