South Big Sur - Ventana Wilderness

We meet Moonstone Beach Bar & Grill, 6550 Moonstone Beach Dr, Cambria at 6PM Nov. 21 on Thu 6PM for dinner and orientation.
You'll need to drive through San Luis Obispo. Hwy 1 in Big Sur is impassible because of landslide.
Lodging: There are plenty hotels and rentals in Cambria and San Simeon. Any will work but you may consider something closer to Fiscalini Ranch Preserve where we'll walk/hike on Sunday. I booked room in Cambria Pines Lodge.
Make sure you'll have free cancellation till Nov 17. Rainy weather will cancel the trip plus I have Jury duty Nov 14 ( it is very unlikely affect this trip).
Our hikes:
Friday: Silver Peak - 10.5 miles, 3300 ft elev. gain . Meeting point - Soda Springs trailhead parking - start 9:00am.
Route: Buckeye tr -> Silver Peak tr -> Silver peak (3521 ft) -> Silver Peak tr downhill -> Soda Wildtrail -> final return by Buckeye tr
After hike we may drive North to see Limekiln park and landslide
Saturday: Salmon Creek - Mount Mars, 8 miles, 3100 ft elev. gain. Meeting point - Salmon Creek trailhead, 9am.
route: Salmon Creek Falls -> Salmon Creek tr -> Spruce Creek tr -> Murry Mine track -> Mount Mars SouthEast Ridge use trail -> Mount Mars ( 2644 ft) -> Mount Mars Traverse -> return by Salmon Creek tr
After hike on drive back we'll explore the following vista points:
- Ragged Point
- Piedras Blancas Light Station
- Elephant Seal View Point and View area ( short walk)
Sunday: Fiscalini Ranch Preserve. 6 miles, 500 ft elev. Gain . Meeting Point - Office at 604 Main Street Trail access at 2799, Bluff Trail, Cambria. 9:30am
It is small ranch and we try to cover all main trails there . We may see otters, monarch butterflies, numerous water birds ( binoculars can be handy there).
Trip will be limited by 12 people , but I may add extra up to 4 hikers based on hiking points. After getting RSVP during 3 days you'll have to inform me about your lodge boking . Otherwise I'll move you on waiting list.
