What we’re about
Just like the Golden Spike driven at Promontory Summit Utah joined the nation, the Golden Spoke Cycling and Outdoors Club is all about bringing people together as we experience cycling and outdoor adventures.
Welcome! This is a cycling group with other adventures and events thrown in.
We will ride "off road" to explore and socialize vs on road racing and trail shredding. We will use our fantastic, interconnected paved bike paths, Trax, and FrontRunner to travel to biking and non-biking events. Car free and car limited days are the best days! (yay!) We will ride our incredible local mountain bike trails. We will ride single track, double track, dirt road, gravel, and fat bike on snow. We will do day rides, overnighters, multi-day trips, touring, urban bike camping, and bikepacking. Life is way more fun on a bike!
Some rules:
- #1 Be nice!
- #2 Helmets are mandatory.
- #3 All events and activities are at your own risk. By signing up for this group and attending an event or activity you acknowledge and agree to this policy.
- #4 Please update your RSVP-ASAP!
Some tips:
- Always have your bike in good riding condition, be on time and prepared with whatever you need to successfully complete the event.
- Carefully read the event description to see if it matches your skill and fitness level.
- Bring the right bike for the terrain.
- Events will start at the stated departure time unless we receive a message that you are running late. At that time a decision will be made whether to hold the group or have you catch up.
- Every effort will be made to keep the group together. If you ride ahead or turn around you must be prepared to ride alone.
- Kindly update your RSVP. Not timely updating your RSVP or no-showing is rude to other group members and the host. We get it. Life happens. Even if it is last minute, update your RSVP.
We look forward to seeing you out there. Let's ride!
