GCP COMMUNITY ACTION DAY: Serving Breakfast for the Unhoused
Details
Hope will never be silence...
Please join us this Saturday at 9 am for our annual community action day!
We’re excited to gather as a community to serve breakfast to up to 100 unhoused individuals in Hartford. Join us for a meaningful day of connection, service, and gratitude!
Food and all the items needed will be provided by our GCP. Volunteers are only expected to show up and serve!
We will also have GCP tshirts for $18 each. Please buy one to wear so we can all look uniformed. Wish we could give those away for free, but we ordered 24 at $18 per shirt, so we are not making anything from them. We appreciate your support.✨️ 🙏
I agree with Lucius Annaeus's assertion that it is the exchange of benefits that keeps us safe. The generosity of benefactors and the gratitude of recipients are the glue that holds society together and guarantees its survival.
Agenda:
9:00 AM - GCP volunteers arrive.
Set up tables with tablecloths and decorations.
Organize the serving line.
10:00 AM - Breakfast service begins.
12:00 PM - Event ends, with bingo games played during breakfast for added fun.
Volunteer Roles: We need at least 15 volunteers to assist with serving and hospitality. Volunteers will be assigned to tables to plate food and assist as runners, creating a welcoming, and clean up.
Food and supplies Needed will be supplied by GCP. Volunteer are ask to
wear similar colors to create a team look. GCP thsorts will be available for $15 per shirt. These shirts can also be worn to our weekly hikes!
We’d love to capture photos to post on Center Angel Outreach’s and GCP'S Facebook page..
Thank you for being a part of our gratitude community – together, we are making a difference. ❤️🙏
For safety and legal purposes, do not just show up. Please take the time to register and have your guest register for each event. Thank you.
*REQUIREMENTS FOR GRATITUDE WALKS/HIKES:
No one wants to find themselves in a situation where they are lost or hurt in the ‘middle of nowhere by themselves – everyone must follow the guidelines to prevent such a scenario, no matter the likelihood of it happening.
- Please DO NOT sign up for a hike if you are not planning to finish it (For safety concerns, we start together and end together. Unless it is an emergency, you will be removed from the group if you show up for the gratitude circle and then leave after or leave halfway into the hike).
- Keep an ID with your emergency contact/s information with you at all times, just in case of an emergency.
- Bring water to stay hydrated, snacks for energy, bug/tick repellant, wear comfortable clothes (non-cotton if possible.. to keep dry), and wear trail sneakers or hiking shoes/boots for comfort.
- Be open, accepting, and respectful at all times. Also, you can social distance and wear masks if you feel more comfortable doing so.
KINDLY DON'T BE A NO-SHOW. Please be considerate and cancel your spot at least 24 hours in advance, especially on a hike with a waitlist. No-shows and last-minute cancellations will not be included in future events.
PARTICIPATION IS AT YOUR OWN RISK. Hike leaders are not responsible for your safety, you may sustain an injury while hiking.
