What we’re about

Are you a professional who is the parent of a school-aged child? My name is Jacqueline Green and I'm the founder of the international Great Parenting Simplified (GPS) movement and also your guide for this Meetup. I've been around the block and would love to help you raise your kids to be the happiest, most successful and resilient possible.

I've been been a parenting educator since 2000, have interviewed over 150 of the world’s top experts and had my work featured on media such as Global Television and Today’s Parents. I'm also working on my long-awaited book called: Strong Enough to Stay: Work it Out or Leave Happy.

What I'm most grateful for is my transformation from a relative disaster as a parent to a master. I'm honoured to be able to use my firsthand experience with clinical depression and a very challenging home environment to give struggling parents hope. As a professional who chose to quit work to be home with my kids, I was shocked to find myself in a marriage with escalating physical violence. I was able to stop that cycle by going to an emergency shelter with my two little children. That started me on a path to learning now to be the leader my kids needed me to be. I now pass on the tools I used to help me become the mother I had vowed to be for my two precious children, now 24 and 26. At the heart of my approach is creating a supportive environment for your growth as a parent, as you are one of your child’s most important leaders.

Each month I will lead an interactive workshop around a different topic, based on the 5 steps to great parenting that GPS coaches have been teaching to parents all over the world since 2015.The 5 steps to great parenting simplified are:

  1. Growth Mindset
  2. Village of Support
  3. Alignment
  4. Maturation and Motivation
  5. Dealing with Difficult Behaviors

The GPS approach is to simplify parenting by doing the work of sifting through the vast amount of information for you. We use proven science along with reliable techniques, and condense them down to the basic steps that you need to master to fit your unique parenting environment. This means you can consume less information, and have more time with your family and for yourself. It can be enjoyable in the moment to research parenting, but ultimately most parents find it very frustrating because they can't use that information when they need it. We help you overcome those blocks, so that you can actually apply great parenting tips to help your precious child/ren to be the best that he/she/they can be.
