Grokked: A Vegas Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Supernatural Book Club

For November, we will be reading Axiom's End. Part of a three book trilogy, this award winning novel by Youtuber/author Lindsay Ellis explores the plight of a brilliant woman who finds herself in the midst of a U.S. government cover up involving extraterrestrial life. Our protagonist, Cora, encounters an alien lifeform whom she named Ampersand. Cora and Ampersand form a psychic bond, as she discovers a complex web of challenges which place her as link between herself, the U.S. Government, and Ampersand's alien brethren. The novel explores the difficulty of morality during a time of crisis, the challenges of language barriers, and the difficult cultural questions one encounters when faced with a completely different species.
