What we’re about
Calling all lovers of nature and the great outdoors to join us in learning about the W̱MÍYEŦEN Nature Sanctuary (wh-my-eh-then: Place of the Deer) - formerly Mary Lake in the Highlands District of the Greater Victoria Region.
This special little 7 acre lake surrounded by 47 acres containing 10 distinct ecosystems acts as a nature corridor between Thetis Lake Regional Park and the Gowlland Todd Provincial Park.
The property is almost 80% Riparian and sits in the imperiled Coastal Douglas-fir zone and the Millstream Watershed.
It has numerous creekside trails for you to wander so you can enjoy the beauty of this 13,000 year old watershed.
Contact the W̱MÍYEŦEN Nature Sanctuary Society if you would like to volunteer for trail maintenance, invasive species removal, social media support, or at our events. [email protected]
