Today we will walk along some of the most interesting parts of The Thames in West London. Features include Hammersmith Bridge which will cross twice, a new path across the Fulham Football Stadium and much of the route of the annual Universities Boat Race.

At the end of the walk we can retreat to a local teashop or pub for a well earned drink.

Arriving

The walk starts and finishes at Barnes Station and NOT Barnes Bridge Station.

You can arrive by train from London Waterloo and Woking .

If driving there is limited free parking on a Sunday in Station Road, Barnes. Research this carefully if you intend to drive and park there.

Preparation

You should wear good walking footwear with strong treads. It is likley to be muddy in places,

Dress for the weather and bring sufficient drinking water for the duration.

Organise your lunch items before the walk starts, there are no shopping stops along the walk.

It is a group event with walk guidance organisation only, no service is inferred or risk assumed.

You will need to be of good physical fitness to participate.
