Today we take a flat circular walk that passes Brooklands Museum. briefly visits Mercedes Benz World before skirting the old runway at Brooklands Museum and following the local Waterways towards the long disused Wisley Airfield.

Long ago British aircraft were built at Brooklands and then test flown at Wisley Airfield. Our walk takes in some of this aviation heritage and allows us to reflect on a bygone era. We will walk part of the length of the old Wisley Airfield disused runway from where there are amazing views of the North Down Hills.

After we leave the Airfield we will take the Wey Navigation back to Weybridge passing through Ripley and Pyrford Lock.

**The route uses part of the newly opened Wisley Bridge over the A3 Road to get to Wisley. Some of the related roads are "works in progress/building site" so good ankle supporting footwear and taking great care are essential.**

The walk is mainly countryside but be prepared for interspersed short road walks.

Make sure your plan is to arrive at the start point before the advertised time.

Bring a packed lunch and water for a short break en-route.

Dress for the weather and distance. You will need strong ankle protecting boots.

Expect to return to Weybridge Station roughly around 4:00 pm

For those that wish, there is the Hand and Spear pub by the station at the end of the walk.

Parking is chargeable at the two Weybridge Station car parks either side of the main Station Car Park. There is free street parking in the Lonsdale Road area behind Weybridge station. You can reach the station from Lonsdale Road using a path that links it to the station.

Trains connect to Weybridge from Guildford, Staines and Waterloo directions.
