This 12 mile hilly walk takes us past the Golden Sands of the River Wey from which Guildford takes its name and on into Chantry Woods. We then climb St Martha's Hill, for the stunning view. Here we may have an early lunch. Our route takes us on into Albury where the old Saxon Church in Albury Park should have a splendid Christmas Tree for use to admire. Finally we then return through Newlands Corner back to Guildford where perhaps a pub awaits us.

There is free parking in Guildford Park Car Park on a Sunday

Make sure you are capable of a 12 mile hilly walk.

Dress for the weather with strong hiking boots suitable for muddy terrain.

Bring sufficient water to drink for a long walk.

Remember to bring a Picnic Lunch, there are no shops on the way
