About the Instructor:
Lauren Goodkind is a well-established chess teacher and author based in Menlo Park. For the past 11 years, she's been inspiring chess enthusiasts of all ages, both locally and out of state. Lauren even achieved the impressive feat of drawing against Billionaire Peter Thiel in a rated tournament game! Her expertise extends beyond the board, as she's authored two chess books endorsed by renowned players.

Lauren Goodkind is the author of Queen For A Day: The Girl’s Guide To Chess Mastery, endorsed by the 2019 and 2022 U.S. Women’s Chess Champion and other top chess masters. Her mission is to inspire more females to play chess and reach mastery.

Note: Attendees are encouraged to bring their own chess sets. A limited number of spare sets will be available for borrowing.
