Details

One year after our first Nix & Rust meetup, we are meeting again in Heidelberg for our first anniversary! 🎊 Note that for the first time, this meetup is only about Nix and NixOS, the declarative package manager and Linux distribution. Mac (Nix on darwin) users are welcome as well! Our Rust Your Engines anniversary meetup for the Rust programming language will be announced separately.

Pizza and drinks will be provided. If you plan to join us, please register for the event here on Meetup.com or sent an email to [email protected] so we know how many people to expect.

It takes place at the Mathematikon in Heidelberg (Im Neuenheimer Feld 205) in room 2/103 (on the center of the second floor). All participants must adhere to our Code of Conduct.

The event is organized by Hackerstolz, a non-profit association from Mannheim with a focus on digital education. We are always looking for new active members, and for students, membership is free. If you are interested in organizing workshops, meetups or hackathons related to digital education and/or technology, get in touch with us at the meetup or send an email to [email protected]. We'd love to welcome you and support you in organizing new events.

If you have any questions, feel free to send us an email at [email protected] or contact us on Mastodon at @[email protected]. We also have a Matrix room: #nixrust-hd:matrix.org.

Schedule (tentative):

  • 18:00 - Open Doors
  • 18:50 - Greeting
  • 19:00 - Wolfgang: A NixOS-powered Couch Gaming PC

The time around the talk is reserved for networking, hacking together on projects, talking about your own Nix-related projects, or if you're completely new to Nix, show you what the fuzz is all about.
