This fabulous 17.8 km (11-mile) walk in the Meon Valley takes in two of the finest peaks in Hampshire. We start at West Meon Village Hall just off the A32 and head west, passing through the village of Warnford where we pick up the Monarch's Way. Continuing on, we work our way round Beacon Hill Nature Reserve to the top of the hill for amazing views. We then descend along the South Downs Way to the village of Exton, where we will stop for a picnic lunch. From here, we head east and skirt around Old Winchester Hill before climbing to the summit for more stunning views of Hampshire. On descending, we rejoin the Monarch's Way and head north to return to West Meon.
There will be some walking along minor roads at the start of the walk, but we soon leave these behind as we ascend Beacon Hill.
Please bring a packed lunch and suitable footwear.
At the end, we will go for refreshments at the Thomas Lord pub in West Meon.
