Mt. Trashmore Wednesday morning hikes are for those who are available on a weekday morning for a refreshing walk and making friends.
If you're going to be late, we'll be back at the flagpole between 9:30 and 9:35 am.
This hike combines at the same time with the Town Center Hike, which includes additional hikers to those listed here.
Moderate pace hike around Mt. Trashmore (around 16 to 20 minute miles).
Meet at restrooms past the parking lot on Edwin Drive (at the flagpole). If you’re driving from S. Independence Blvd, parking is first entrance on the right (on Edwin Drive). The restrooms and flagpole are just beyond the parking lot.
We walk about 1-1/2 miles each lap. Stay for 1 lap, or 2 laps, or up to 3 laps. Optional walk up the steps after the second or third lap.
Be there at the restroom at least 5 minutes early (8:55 am) because we’ll leave as close to 9 am as possible to respect everyone’s schedule.
NOTE: If the first parking lot is closed, drive to the second parking lot on the right or left and walk back to the restrooms and flagpole.
If the weather is iffy, watch for comments.
Note: On the first lap, we walk counterclockwise from the restrooms. About halfway around, there are three paths. We walk down the middle path for the first lap. We walk down the right (longer) path the second and third laps.
If you need a shorter walk, you can take the left path on the first lap. It goes directly to the restrooms and flagpole.
If you’re going to be late, we usually get back to the restrooms after the first lap by 9:35 am. You can meet us then and there.
Alternatively, if you’re late, walk clockwise and you’ll see us walking the other way toward you. Or run counterclockwise to catch up.
