Mixed Media Painting

Details

Mixed Media Painting describes artwork in which more than one medium or material is used.
In our class, we will be creating artwork using different materials such as paint, watercolor, cloth, paper, wood, beads, thread, and found objects amongst many things.
Using our imaginations, we will mix our mediums and materials on canvas by painting, gluing, threading, etc.
Fun Fact: The first modern artwork to be considered Mixed Media is Pablo Picasso's 1912 collage, “Still Life with Chair Caning" which used paper, cloth, paint, and rope to create a pseudo-3D effect.
