Parking location is left to individual choice.
There is plenty of parking available at Conyngham car park(Alongside the Knaresborough/Harrogate A59 road/river bridge) – parking charges apply.
There are a number of other suitable car parks in Knaresborough at a lower parking cost but further away from our start point.

An easy 4 mile walk passing through and along old woodland and riverside pathways with many an interesting natural and historical sighting along the way including The House in the Rocks, Chapel in the Crag and St Roberts Cave and not forgetting the magnificent cliffs and features of the river Nidd and Nidd Gorge..

A 10-15 min lunch break will be incorporated at approximately halfway point at which everyone is welcome to a free Bucks Fizz & Chocolate toast to the New Year from the Walking Group organisers.

The walk will end with a visit to a local Inn or Cafe for those who wish to stay for a while and partake in light refreshments.

CONDITIONS OF WALK ATTENDANCE

Strictly NO DOGS allowed on any HDGW walks.

The group is run on a non-profit making basis and all the walks are presented by invitation only and will be voluntarily led and free to participate.

This walking group is formulated for walkers with a moderate but adequate degree of fitness and walking experience & who must have confidence in their own ability to, at the very least, be capable of walking at a minimum pace of 2 -2.5 miles/hr, for a distance of 5 miles and generally be able to keep up with the main body of the walk group on the day.

The pace of the walk will be controlled by the leader to take into account the varied degrees of ability and at NO time should participants walk off ahead in front of the leader unless instructed to do so.

The above notice of event presents a free will invitation to join this walk event at your own risk and discretion and does not constitute or imply a contract to provide a service by the organiser, group or fellow participants.
