Railroad ramble & history hike

Details
This history walk starts out slow as we learn a bit about the former Cheney railroad, a spur from main r.r. line to the silk mills in the south end of Manchester. Beginners, families, kids welcome. We'll walk along a fairly flat trail, crossing some streets. Part of the property is owned by the Town of Manchester and part by the Manchester Land Conservation Trust. About 2.75 miles round trip, with commentary on the history of the r.r. Moderate pace. Special r.r. favor for kids. No dogs, please. Rain or shine. Extreme weather cancels. Takes 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Park at the southeast corner of the shopping mall at the intersection of North Main and Main Streets (near the r.r. tracks) OR at the 8th District offices, 18 Main Street at the corner of Hilliard Street. Meet at the southeast corner, on the Main Street side of the parking lot, near the r.r. tracks and former Farr's Sporting Goods.
