This event is a very spiritual and solemn gathering, we are offering the blood of the Jul lamb to the Gods. Afterwards we will process the body and it will hang until the following Friday, the night before Jul. There will be another event that Friday evening called "Apportioning of the Jul Lamb". Jul will be on the next day.

A live animal blot is always a very serious occasion. The act of taking a life is not done lightly. However, if we are attempting to interact with supernatural powers the only medium that bridges that gap is blood.

Blood resides in both the mundane and the spirit world. Whenever our blood leaves our bodies, our spirit follows. It is the most potent offering we can give the Gods, and it is also exactly what our ancestors offered at these times as well.

The reason we do this rite several days ahead of the actual blot ritual is so that the body of the animal may cool properly and be more fit for consumption, it is a better, more respectful treatment of the meat.. We also offer this flesh as a burnt offering before feast, and we want it to be as fine as it can to please the Gods.

It is intended that only the people that wish to witness such a rite are in attendance. Afterwards, there may be a snack and a sumble. If you have something to share go ahead and bring it.

It is unknown at this point who or how many the Jul lambs will be, because they won't be born until March 2024, updates will be made accordingly.
