Hooray! The NC Arboretum Says We May Walk Hard Times Road

Details

We had heard from a MeetUp member that Hard Times Road was open for walking, and the Arboretum has made it official. Let's walk it!

Just inside the gate you will find a parking area on the left. We will meet there at noon. We'll walk Hard Times Road, Owl Ridge Road, and Rocky Cove Road. We will return by way of Bent Creek Road and the Old Mill Trail. In total it is about 7 KM/4.5 miles.

Dress for the weather. Walking poles are a good idea as there are large hills and somewhat difficult roadways. Light hiking boots are a good idea. Be sure to bring water and a protein snack.

Dogs on leash are welcome, but are not allowed in buildings or the Bonsai Exhibit. Strollers are not recommended this time.

The NC Arboretum does not have an admission fee, but at this time they are taking donations at the entrance. We recommend annual membership.

After the walk, while on the property, you might want to go up to the formal gardens to see the Winter Lights exhibits.
