Hike: Congaree National Park

Let's go hiking! Congaree trails sometimes get flooded. If you register for this hike, please check 1 day beforehand whether or not we're going. If the trail is not accessible, I'll find another hike instead.

Where? Congaree National Park, 100 National Park Rd, Hopkins, SC 29061

When? Saturday, November 23, AM

What? a 6.7 mile loop through the park (Oakridge Trail)

How & timing?

1. carpool from Evans: get together at 8:15AM sharp at Walmart parking lot across from the gas station, 4469 Washington Rd, Evans, GA 30809. We'll carpool from there and decide on the spot who will be driving. (Please pay your driver for fuel.)
2. drive on your own: get together under the visitor center breezeway at about 9:30AM at Congaree National Park, 100 National Park Rd, SC29061 Hopkins (depending on traffic, but please leave on time!)
3. The hike will take about 3h (depending on pace, picture breaks, ...), so it will end at about 12:30PM.
4. I know I'll be hungry by then, so if you're carpooling with Romi & me: we'll have lunch somewhere along the way home.
5. We'll arrive at about 3PM (or 4PM or 5PM). There are to many variables, so we'll go with the flow.

Cost? $2 cash (to pay the Meetup fee)

Extra info:

• It's about 1.5 hours drive, so save the planet and try to carpool.
• Put in the comments whether you're carpooling or driving by yourself please. If you don't, I'll assume you're not coming (which means we also won't wait for you at Walmart or at the park).
• The trail is flat, but might be muddy. Wear appropriate footwear.
