We meet at 9:00 and start our walk by 9:07 or whenever all RSVPs have arrived.
DIRECTIONS
Take N. 30th St. up to Pearl. Turn north on Pearl, and the road will lead you straight into the park. We will enter Point Defiance Park at the Pearl St. entrance. Please park in that main parking lot across from the pond. If you drive to the tennis courts, you have gone too far. Once everyone has arrived, we will drive up into the park, stop at a trailhead, and walk a 4 mile loop. It is beautiful (with water views, etc.). Kelly is in a brown Buick Encore.
POINT DEFIANCE PARK
As the largest urban park in Pierce County, the network of roads and trails weaving through the forest preserve provides a quiet retreat for joggers, cyclists, and hikers.
There are many hiking trails along Point Defiance's cliffs that have sweeping views of Vashon Island, Dalco Passage, Gig Harbor, and the Tacoma Narrows Bridge. The road network also passes by Fort Nisqually.
HOW IT WORKS: If Kelly Pagano is not signed up for this walk, it probably won't happen. She is in a brown Buick Encore. Typically, if there are five or fewer attendees, we all get in Kelly's car to drive up to the trailhead. If you would prefer to follow in your own car, that's fine too!
