Welcome to Higher Grounds: Hikes, Coffee & Meaningful Conversation (GenX)
Are you a mid-life, mid-career professional or a recent empty nester? Are you a hybrid worker and find yourself spending too much time staring at screens when what you really crave is real-life interaction? If so, this group is for you!
Focused on Northern Virginia but welcoming anyone across the DMV area, this Meetup is designed to help you break out of isolation and connect with active mature adults who are in a similar stage of life. Whether you're caught in the commuting rat race, a full-time remote worker, a hybrid professional, we’re here to foster meaningful connections.
Join us for a variety of activities that encourage both socializing and active living, including:
- Coffees and Meaningful Conversations: Relaxed meetups at local coffee houses where we can chat about work, life, philosophy, purpose or whatever’s on your mind.
- Outdoor Activities: Walks, hikes, dog-friendly walks and other outdoor adventures to get us moving.
- Movies and Music Events: Includes grabbing a bite, catching thoughtful cinema and checking out the local music scene.
We’re also looking for leaders who can help run events within the group. You have to come to at least three events and have great ideas for activities. All organizers get their monthly dues waived. Whether you have ideas for new meetups or want to help organize, your involvement is welcome!
