Newport Aquarium to Eden Park Hike and back

Details

FREE PARKING: Parking at meters on all the streets around Newport on the Levee is free on Sundays. When there is no Bengals home game, the best place to park is at the parking meters on Riverboat Row. Turn north on Park Ave from Rt. 8. Go about 50 yards and turn left (west) on Riverboat Row. Be sure to park at a meter on the left side of the street, not in the other open areas. When there is a Bengals game, there also is plenty of free parking on Saratoga, York and Monmoth Sts. very close to the Aquarium or you can park in the garage at the Levee.

We typically do about 10 miles and there are several long sets of stairs (more than 1,000 total). We walk at a brisk pace, so it is not just an easy stroll. Some in the group may spin off and do a couple extra miles and some may take a shortcut to eliminate a couple miles. If anyone is getting tired, they can turn back after our break (rest rooms and water fountain) at Krohn Conservatory and take a direct route back without any additional stairs.

We usually head across the Taylor-Southgate Bridge (or sometimes over to the Suspension Bridge to get an extra mile), walk out east around the pickleball courts and up the stairs to Mt. Adams and loop back through Eden Park. We will walk past Krohn Conservatory, Playhouse in the Park and up the Art Museum stairs.
