MODERATE Hike - and one of the BEST in Poway!

To get to trail head: Take Poway Road East to Garden Road. Turn Right and follow Garden Road East to Sycamore Canyon Road - turn Right and follow road all the way under Scripps Poway Parkway overpass and keep going to the end. You will run right into the trail parking for Goodan Ranch Staging Area. Meet at 8:20 AM and we'll begin hiking at 8:30 AM. Note: This is NOT the trail head off of Hwy 67!

Garden Road Elementary School - you may hit some traffic at the elementary school, so allow at least an extra 5 minutes for this.

GOODAN RANCH STAGING AREA PARKING: This is a fairly small parking lot and can hold approximately 10 cars. We can park in front of one another within our group. There is also some room to park on the roadside just before the lot but not recommended. This hike is right at 4 miles.

Be sure to wear sturdy athletic or hiking shoes. Hat and sunscreen always recommended. Bring plenty of water and a snack if you think you'll get hungry on the hike.

Each hiker is participating in this activity at their own risk and is responsible for their own preparation and safety. Hiking our back country trails and roads comes with certain risks such as sunburn, dehydration, sprained ankles, snakes and other critters, poison oak, etc...so please come prepared!
