Our route is a moderate 1009 feet of total ascent with some short/medium ascents to shake off the Autumn cobwebs on a Sunday morning. We'll climb up to the viewpoint on Kinver Edge before heading along and into the woods. Our route takes us along main paths to Caunsall before we pick up the canal for a while. In October, the trees along the canal should be lots of different colours. We then look back around circumventing Kinver Edge before heading to a local pub for a bit of social time

Our Walks

We tend to walk at between 3 and 3.5 miles an hour, which is faster than Ramblers and social groups. We tend to stop for a couple of breaks and around 20 minutes for a picnic lunch. This is a walking group, so we don’t hang about to take lots of photographs. There is no guarantee of finding toilets during our walk.

You should have a reasonable level of fitness to do this walk and new members are welcome to join us.

**What to bring**

There is no planned pub or cafe stop en-route so you'll need to bring enough foodstuffs and liquids to keep you going all day. You'll need decent footwear and suitable clothing. Jeans are not recommended as they can become very uncomfortable if it rains. Only walking type wellies. Trainers are only useful when the conditions are very dry. Please ensure you carry enough water when the weather is warm. 2 litres is the minimum during summer months.

Jon is a very experienced walk leader and trained to MLT standards. Hazel has completed the 2 day Outdoor First Aid Course. The group holds public liability insurance.

We try to keep together as a group, so please try other groups if you want to compete with others or push ahead on your own. You must be willing to listen to all instructions that impact on your safety.
You must be medically fit enough to participate. If in doubt, please speak with the walk leader beforehand. Medication must be carried if necessary.

No dogs please (except assistance dogs by prior consent).

Places are limited, so please only book on to this event if you really intend to participate. All walks are subject to static and dynamic risk assessments. As with any outdoor activity, walking carries a certain level of risk. Whilst we do endeavour to avoid any unnecessary risks, participants must take all reasonable precautions themselves to avoid injury.
