Let's hike the southern portion of McDowell Grove this week. We will start promptly at 9:00 am and walk south from the parking lot towards Ogden Ave, continuing under Ogden Ave walking along the West Branch Dupage River to Jefferson Ave. ( The portion south of Ogden Ave. is not shown on the Trail map.) If the group is up for it, we can continue across Jefferson Avenue and connect with the Naperville Riverwalk.

Paths are grass, crushed limestone and asphalt. We walk a pace of 3.2 to 3.5 mph but it's an out and back so other paces and distances can be accommodated. There is not a lot of shade on this path.

Some maps show the Park on West Dr. This is the same road as McDowell Rd, just as you cross east of Raymond Dr. Despite what your GPS might indicate, this is at the corner of McDowell Rd and Raymond Dr. just south of Diehl Road. It is well signed. Drive in across the bridge and park near the Information board and port-a-potty.
