We'll go out and hike these really cool trails for about an hour and a half, take a break and eat a snack, and then hike back to the parking lot.

This section of the Dragon Trail has a few hills. Nothing really horrible. I always use trekking poles whenever I'm not on a paved surface. I also always bring water and a snack.

Once the ground freezes and it's snow covered, a lot of hikers wear spikes on their boots.

Some of the hikers go out to eat after the hike. I usually can't because of work.

I HIGHLY recommend that you use a navigation app such as AllTrails whenever you're out in the woods. You never know when you might have to make your way back to your vehicle on your own.

Even on the Dragon Trail, which doesn't have a lot of sub trails, I still recommend having a tracking app running.

If you're running late, please text me at 616 446 8102. We can wait. Otherwise we'll leave right on time. I'll have a dark blue Honda Accord.

If you've not hiked with an organized group before, please give us a try. We love to have new hikers join us. Don't worry about being too fast or too slow for the group. Our hikers tend to split up into different groups according to pace. We typically average about 2.5 mph.

This hike is also posted on my Facebook group: West Michigan Hikers.

IMPORTANT: It's hunting season right now (but not rifle hunting.) It's still a good idea to wear orange if you're out in the woods this time of year. Not all hunters follow the rules.

See you out on the trails !
