4.5 Mile Scenic Fall Hike at Crooked Creek

Details

Join me and Casey for a scenic jaunt on the Crooked Creek trail in Pine Log State Forest. We will hopefully see the last of the Fall flowers. We will not see a bear but once I saw a lizard and heard a turkey call. The air should be fresh and highly breathable. It's been a long time since we've visited this favorite trail and we've forgotten what it feels like to hike it. After hiking it you will ask yourself why you've waited so long to enjoy it again. It's typical of forest trail surfaces in our area-roots, soft sand, pine needles- through two distinct landscapes. We won't hike at a leisurely pace but we won't hike as fast as Speedy Gonzales either.
Bring water, snacks, sunscreen and bug spray. A hat, comfy shoes and hiking poles are helpful.
This is a pay-for-use State Forest. Day passes are $2. They can be obtained online or by phone:

*Please enable Meetup notifications so we can get in touch with you if necessary
**Please adjust your RSVP if you can't attend. Standing at the trail head waiting for no shows is not very fun for us.
