**Did Rome conquer and dominate** the land we now call **Scotland**, did they enjoy **friendly relations** with the local communities, **or was it somewhere in between? The Roman presence in Scotland, though erratic and short-lived, had a lasting cultural, social, and economic effects**. By examining imperial centres and indigenous settlements, local and imported material culture, and artistic representations of the two communities, **this tour reveals how the two communities interacted and uncovers the cultural exchanges that took place.**
