Let's hike several of the trails in Fred G, Bond Metro Park in Cary. It should be a beautiful, crisp Fall morning! Those who are interested can meet for lunch afterwards at Doherty's Irish Pub.

• What we'll do
We'll meet near the boat house at Bond Park in Cary and walk three trails: the Lake trail - 2.2 miles, the Paw Paw trail - 1.2 miles, and the Pine Cone trail - 1 mile, for a total of around 4 miles. The trails are a mixture of paved and natural surface and include portions with roots. You may want to bring a hiking pole for that section of the hike. All 3 trails are rated as easy by AllTrails.

Most of the trails are shaded but about 1/3 of the lake trail is in the sun. **(Please note the information in How to Find us; the park is somewhat large and it's easy to go to the wrong parking lot.)**

• Apres Hike: Lunch at Doherty's Irish Pub, 1979 High House Rd, Cary, NC It's about 2.5 miles from Bond Park.

• What to Bring
Plenty of WATER, comfortable hiking shoes or boots, water, walking sticks if you like, clothing appropriate for the weather, sun-screen, and perhaps a snack. In bug season we also recommend a good mosquito and tick repellent.

• Important to Know
While the group may spread out on the trail, as a courtesy, please let the organizers know if you do not intend to complete the hike with the group leaders. While we are not liable for you on the trail, we do want to keep track of our numbers if possible.

• Après hike: Iced coffee/etc at Crema Coffee Roaster & Bakery, 983 High House Rd, Cary, NC 27519. It's about 2 1/2 miles from the Boathouse.

• Dogs: well-mannered, friendly dogs on leashes 6 ft or less are welcome. Dogs are not able to come inside the winery.

• Weather Policy
If the weather forecast is for rainy or otherwise nasty weather, we'll reschedule. If it's questionable, check back here an hour or two before the event. If the hike is not possible, we can still meet at the winery.
