This is a weekly event co-hosted by Dennis Robinson and Joseph Warren.

\*\*NOTE: this event is starting at 4:15 during the winter months so it will begin and end in daylight. The traditional 5:00pm version will resume once we go back to DST.

\*\*NOTE: To give everyone a fair shot at getting a spot, we no longer allow folks to sign up weeks in advance. RSVPs will open at 9 PM six days before each event.

• What We'll Do
We will walk around Lake Pines 1-2 times, depending on how we feel

•• Trails: Lake Pines loop trail

•• Distance: about 2.1 miles per lap

•• Difficulty: Mostly easy, paved surface with some very mild slopes

•• Facilities: There are restrooms at our parking area as well as halfway around.

• What to Bring
Plenty of WATER, comfortable hiking shoes or boots, water, walking sticks if you like, clothing appropriate for the weather, sun-screen, and perhaps a snack. In bug season we also recommend a good mosquito and tick repellent.

• How to find us
The "where" location works for google maps. If you're not using google maps, go to 2200 Laura Duncan Rd. then turn into Apex Community Park. follow the park road (apparently called Chardstone Ct. but there is no sign) past the baseball fields, tennis courts, and children's playground all the way to the very end. We'll meet by the Greenway sign and picnic pavilions at the far end of the parking lot.

• Important to Know
While the group may spread out on the trail, as a courtesy, please let the organizers know if you do not intend to complete the hike with the group leaders. While we are not liable for you on the trail, we do want to keep track of our numbers if possible.

• Dogs: well-mannered, friendly dogs on leashes 6 ft or less are welcome.

• Weather Policy
If the weather forecast is for rainy or otherwise nasty weather, we'll reschedule. If it's questionable, check back here an hour or two before the event.
