What we’re about

The group Hiking South East Qld and More it's about sharing the experience.

It's about spending time outside to achieve higher goals, restore energies, nourish imagination and new inspirations. It is about to renew allegiances with nature and learn about environment. Every time is a new adventure! Every time is a new challenge!

It is also about spending time with positive people and together experience the wonders of ancient mountains, of primitive rainforests, the wilderness of the bush and the immensity of seas. Take your camera with you and your big smile.

This Group Hiking South East Qld and More has to do with what the great outdoor has to offer and it is home for hikes, bushwalks, beach walks, bike rides, urban walks, camping, kayaking, travelling, festivals. After the hikes and walks generally the group meets in lovely cafes where the members can socialise further. Activities also include concerts, theatre performances and other different activities. Lose yourself and find yourself again in a new adventure. Find enjoyment and friends to share the experience of the events you attend!

Please load a clear picture of yourself in your profile to maximise the benefits of being in a group and have your setting to receive notifications so you don't miss out the beautiful events. When you RSVP yes to an activity it means you are nominated to go. If no longer can attend please make sure to adjust your RSVP two days prior the event.

We kindly request that all participants register individually for the hikes and most of the activities in the group, in most of the activities plus one are not allowed. This allows the organisers to properly plan for group size, ensure everyone is properly informed about the trail details, and maintain an enjoyable experience for all. While we understand the desire to share the hiking experience with friends and family, bringing unregistered guests can pose safety and logistical challenges. Our trails are chosen and organized with the registered participants in mind.

Safety and respect are our top priorities in this hiking group. As such, there is zero-tolerance policy for any form of abuse, harassment, or disruptive behaviour. We kindly ask that all participants respect one another and refrain from the use of drugs, alcohol, or other substances during the activities.
Disruptive or distracting behaviours that could compromise the group's safety and enjoyment is not accepted, such as excessive noise, horseplay, or ignoring the leader's instructions.

The group Hiking South East Qld and More aim in fostering positive experiences within a group setting.Through constructive feedback, shared insights, and collective problem-solving, group members can expand their perspectives, learn new strategies, and develop positive relations.

It is paramount to stay together as a group during the hike. Members should not wander off or separate from the group without the leader's knowledge.

It is each individual's responsibility to carefully review the hike and walks descriptions and ensure they have the appropriate fitness level and equipment for the chosen activity. We encourage all members to do also their own research and prepare thoroughly before joining the group on the trails. While we strive to provide accurate and detailed information, the ultimate decision to participate rests with you. Participation is voluntary. Please take the time to assess your abilities and limitations to choose the right activity. Your safety and enjoyment are paramount.

Participants must adhere to a strict "Leave No Trace" policy. Protecting the natural environment is of the utmost importance. Proper waste disposal is mandatory. All trash, food waste, and other litter must be packed out. Littering or improper disposal is not tolerated. Participants are required to stay on designated trails at all times. Straying from marked paths is prohibited, as it can disturb wildlife habitats. Minimizing disturbance to wildlife is crucial. Participants must refrain from approaching, feeding, or interacting with any animals encountered during the hike. We expect all participants to be mindful of their environmental impact and to role model responsible outdoor behaviour. This includes respecting the fragile ecosystems we traverse.

This Group love Contributors so if you would like to suggest an event or become an Event Host please go ahead anytime. Talk to Terry and Cris about becoming an Organiser.  Organisers spark community connections, inspire ideas and create inclusive events for the members. All the events of Hiking South East Qld and More are organised by  Event Hosts to deliver the best of the adventures. This Group is run solely by Volunteers who donate their time and their skill to share the experience.

Our group thrives on positive interaction and warmly welcomes your contributions. We deeply value constructive and proactive feedback, as well as your innovative ideas and suggestions for new places to explore. Together, let's create an inspiring environment where creativity and discovery flourish.

Some of the events in the Group Hiking South East Qld and More could be supplied by commercial companies after a careful research by the Organisers of the Group. The Organisers will always try to look for the best deal with no hidden charges or commissions.

We kindly ask for two dollars donation to help cover the meetup fee, thank you for the support.

As a contributor to Weekend Notes, Cris captures photos during group activities to complement her articles. If you prefer not to be photographed, kindly inform the entire group on the day of the activity. This proactive communication helps prevent any misunderstandings.
