Haystack Mt -Pawlet VT. via Breakfast C3C

**NOT A BEGINNER HIKE

** Wear bright color jacket and or hat (orange is best) due to a hunting season

** 645AM Meet time at Northway Exit 9 Fire Rd Park and Ride to carpool, Rathbuns expecting us at 8am.

We will start off with breakfast at Rathbun's Maple Sugar House in Granville( Whitehall address:1208 Hatch Hill Rd, Whitehall, NY.) It’s pancakes, waffles, french toast with pure maple syrup. They also have eggs. Menu online.Then it’s a short (15-20 min.) drive over to Haystack Mt. in Pawlet, VT to work it off. This is a short 3 mile RT hike with excellent views overlooking Granville, the Mettawee Valley, and the Adirondacks in the distance. Elevation gain is about 900', summit elevation 1930'. It’s a short but steady climb with a steep section near the top. Dress for winter weather in non cotton layers and wear warm hiking boots. Bring traction devices. Also snacks , water and carpool $. No dogs please. You should be doing regular aerobic exercise to participate. Forecast of rain/ snow/poor driving condition postpones the outing.
