Description: Bommer Ridge and Moro Ridge trails are nice big, wide, well-groomed dirt maintenance roads. We will have a few mild hills up and down along the way. Along with cooling ocean breezes, there are nice views of the ocean, and the other ridges and canyons along the way. On a clear day, there are nice coastal views from Table 22. This is an out and back hike.

Parking: There is plenty of on-street parking all along Ridge Park Road and East Coastal Peak Road. GPS Address: 20403 E Coastal Peak, Newport Coast, CA 92657.

Route: From the rest room meeting point, we can access the Pacific Ridge trail directly across the street, heading to the left, to to Bommer Ridge trail, where we turn right. When we get to El Moro Ridge, we will turn right (toward the ocean) and walk to the Lower Campground. After a brief water/snack break, we will return the way we came. See Photos for more details.

Sometimes we may see some wildlife: quail, hawks, roadrunners, bunny wabbits, and if we are very lucky, maybe a snake or a tarantula.

What to bring: Water, maybe a snack or lunch, sunglasses, sturdy hiking shoes, maybe hiking poles if you have them, a hat or umbrella, a happy attitude and a big smile!

Facilities: We start and finish the hike at the restrooms at Coastal Peak Park. There is also a luxury pit toilet / out house at our Table 22 turnaround point.
