This tour covers 02 of these islands, São Vicente and Santo Antão. After a New Year Street celebration, you’ll pass through farming and fishing villages, valleys and mountains, unique and breathtaking landscapes.
São Vicente, Cape Verde's cultural capital
Mindelo is the capital of São Vicente and also the culture capital of Cape Verde. Cesaria Evora's hometown…. This means, a lot of art, music and nightlife. The waters around Sao Vicente are famous for the blue marlin (fish). The landscape of Sao Vicente is barren with brown-red mountains and valleys. In the southwest and east of the island you have beautiful beaches with white sand coming from the Sahara.
Santo Antão, Cape Verde's greenest and most mountainous island
Do not forget you hiking shoes if you visit Santo Antão. This is the paradise for hikers with beautiful trails through the stunning mountains and green valleys. You will find here unspoiled nature, high mountains, impressive cliffs and fairytale-like villages like Fontainhas.
Day 1 – Mon 30Dec - São Vicente - Island Tour – Mindelo

On your way to a great adventure, we have lunch at a restaurant in Calhau.
Discover the city of Mindelo, with its beautiful colonial houses, a visit to the fish and vegetable market. A must, we visit the Museum of Cesária Évora, the bare feet Diva.
Then we continue towards Monte Verde, up to the highest peak in São Vicente (779m). Discover all the landscapes of São Vicente with its beautiful beaches and dormant volcanoes.
Day 2 – Tue 31Dec - The New Year's Eve party
The New Year's Eve party in Mindelo is one of the most anticipated events of the year in the city. Mindelo, located on the island of São Vicente in Cape Verde, is known for its lively and vibrant celebrations, and the New Year's Eve party is no exception. As midnight approaches, the streets of Mindelo fill with energy and enthusiasm. People dress in elegant and colourful clothes, and many wear white, which is traditionally considered a lucky colour for the New Year.
And the party continues to the streets of Mindelo.
Day 3 – Wed 01Jan – São Pedro

Today we will take you to the fishing village of São Pedro, 15 minutes from Mindelo, to visit the colonial Dona Amélia lighthouse and snorkel with the turtles.
Return to the city of Mindelo.
Day 4 – Thu 02Jan – City tour –Mindelo
When you visit Mindelo, you'll immediately be captivated by its colonial architecture, with colourful buildings that evoke a sense of nostalgia. The city is famous for its cobbled streets and charming squares, where you can stroll around and soak up the relaxed atmosphere.
One of the most emblematic places in Mindelo is the Municipal Market, where you can sample the rich flavours and aromas of the local cuisine.
Day 5 – Fri 03Jan – Santo Antão
Transfer to Mindelo harbour at 06:20 for Santo Antão.
Accompanied by an experienced driver and guide, in this full-day programme we combine the best selection of places of interest that you will enjoy during your stay.
An opportunity to discover Cape Verde's most beautiful island, full of spectacular and breathtaking views, by visiting the viewpoint of Pico da Cruz, the crater of the Cova volcano, an inactive volcano that is used today for farming.
Continuing on to the village of Corda, Delgadinho, Ribeira Grande Ribeira da Torre and Ponta do Sol
Day 6 – Sat 04Jan – Paúl Valley Hike
Today we'll visit the green valley in the middle of the yam fields, among potatoes, sweet potatoes, papaya and other vegetables and fruits, as the starting point for the famous 600m walk.
A magnificent walk with many sugar cane terraces and of course the possibility of tasting the local grog and punch.
Day 7 – Sun 05Jan – South-West Santo Antão
Morning departure from the hotel to the south-west of the island, visiting the villages of Lagedos, Ribeira das Patas and Alto Miara. You'll get a clear sense of the contrast between the villages, on the one hand, and the immense Alto Mira, one of the largest river basins in the country.
Along the walk you can find endemic plants as well as stunning landscapes.
Then we'll return to the village of Lagedos where we'll have lunch on an ecological farm.
Day 8 – Mon 06Jan – Departure
Transfer at 10.30am from the hotel to the airport
