Embodied Ashtanga
Details
This Ashtanga Yoga class offers key insights into finding alignment within the postures to suit each individual's physiology, and provides the practitioner plenty of time to transition between poses.
The practice will begin with the standing postures of the primary series before moving into the seated practice. Transitions between seated postures is always optional, and practitioners will be offered alternative methods for developing the strength necessary to move towards a practice that includes theses transitions.
This class is suitable for all levels of practice. While having some previous yoga experience is helpful, our emphasis in this practice is not primarily on the physical forms, but on cultivating a deeper relationship to our bodies and nervous systems in a compassionate and non-judgmental way, learning to approach the practice from a place of wise intention and present-moment awareness of breath and body as we move through the asanas.
