You might have noticed that Meetup has started a new paid subscription for members called Meetup+. This means that to access some features we use regularly—like looking at member photos, seeing the group’s member list, and messaging each other—families now have to pay. Meetup+ also implemented a "priority waitlist" option for those who want to get ahead on event waitlists by paying extra.

At HSKG, we value connecting homeschoolers in our area and making sure everyone has a fair chance to join our events. Heylo is a free platform that meets our needs and provides the tools our Lead Team needs to create great experiences for our kids.

**Here’s what you need to know about the switch:**

\- From November 25th onwards\, you will only be able to RSVP for events on Heylo\.
\- If you’ve already signed up for a paid event happening after November 25th\, your RSVP will stay on Meetup unless you join Heylo\, where we’ll ask you to RSVP again\.

**Dues Update:**

•We will stop charging membership dues on Meetup as of today.
•If you recently paid the new $10 fee, you will get a $5 refund. Please watch for it, and if you don’t see it in the next week, let me (Jaimie) know.
•If you’ve paid dues on meetup you will not be charged again until July 18, 2025.
•Trial members will get to start their 60 day trial all over again over on Heylo and then will be asked to pay the $5 annual dues.

**New Dues:** On Heylo, the annual dues will go back down to $5. This money will help us buy supplies, organize our larger annual events, cover our BaySix fees for our annual merch order and pay for room rentals for big events like our Wake Tech talk in January.
