Time of the year to celebrate Xmas! Let's do it by enjoying an easy walk and joining hikers of two connected events held on the same day for a sumptuous traditional Chinese dinner.

Thanks Justina and Fanny for agreeing to lead this event.

On this occasion, we shall explore the western reaches of the extensive Tai Lam Chung Country Park. To start with our expedition, we will walk to the end of Mac 10. Upon hitting Tuen Mun Trail where can appreciate the majestic Castle Peak on the other side of Tuen Mun, we will turn to a shady dirt path to Lam Tei Irrigation Reservoir, then an urban pavement route towards Fu Tei village.

The uphill session is fairly forgiving for seasoned hikers. You should be having regular exercise or else you find our task too challenging. This route offers a unique opportunity for avid hikers to recharge themselves before another week of work or play.

**Who should sign up:** Hikers who (a) have completed a hike rated 2.0 or above with this group; (b) are comfortable trekking on a rugged and rocky path; (c) have read thoroughly this announcement, including all links and our FAQ, (d) have included a photo in your profile with which we can identify you. No such photo, no hike.

**Not allowed:** Guests (guests must RSVP separately), one-time use plastic bottles, smoking, kids, pets, jeans, sandals without toe protection.

**Hike statistics:** About 6 km, total ascent 200m, estimated time 2.5 hours. More than 1/3 of this contemplated trail is exposed to the sun.

**What to bring:** water (min 1.0L), hat/sunblock are recommended. Personal ID, food/snack, appropriate clothing for the weather of the day, shoes with good gripping/traction soles. Also bring clothes for change as AC of the restaurant could be chilly.

**Meeting place & time:** Concourse level, Exit B, Tuen Mun MTR Station at 3.30pm. Look for Fanny Lau and Justina Kwok.

**Description:** Tuen Mun MTR Station > Tuen Mun Trail > Sandy and steep path uphill towards a pavilion > Dirt path downhill > Lam Tei Irrigation Reservoir > Fu Tei > Lingnan University.

You are most welcome to join our Xmas dinner (Chinese style) at 嶺南樓 of Lingnan University. Budget $250 per head. Remit payment to Stephen via PayMe (9850 9826).

If you are not joining us for dinner, you can leave by walking 0.8 km to Siu Hong MTR Station, West Rail Line; or taking bus to Mongkok/Yau Ma Tei/Jordan or taking Light Rail Transit to Yuen Long/Tuen Mun.

* No replenishment and no early exit.
* Use the washroom before coming out from the MTR turnstiles or at the shopping mall near the MTR concourse.
