**Who should sign up:**
We will hike the beautiful and relatively easy route along the famous Dragon's Back, tracing the final stage of the Hong Kong Trail, within the stunning Shek O country park. Anyone with a basic level of fitness is welcome to join us as it's mostly flat and downhill with only a small small uphill stage at the beginning.

**Not allowed:** No guests allowed on our hikes. If you want to bring friends, ask them to signup themselves. Everyone must dress appropriately and have proper equipment for a morning hike. Water is critical, snacks are nice and cameras will be essential.

**Hike stats** – 8 km, total ascent 250 m, estimated hiking time between 2 and 2.5 hours depending on the group's speed, and excludes transportation time.

**What to bring** – decent shoes, plenty of water, hat & suntan cream as the top of the dragon is mostly exposed. Snacks are always nice but water is most critical. Dont forget the camera as well as your sense of adventure.

**Meeting Time and Place:** 9.30am at Exit A2, Shau Kei Wan MTR station (street level).

Our Route: Mini Bus/Taxi to To Tei Wan bus stop -> HK Trail Stage 8 -> Dragon's Back -> Shek O Peak -> Pottinger Peak Country Trail -> Big Wave Bay -> Bus/Taxi back to Shau Ki Wan MTR

Shek O Country Park is one of Hong Kong's most celebrated natural havens. Sitting in the southeastern corner of HK Island, the 701-hectare park was designated in 1979. From the north, it extends along the ridgeline that links Pottinger Peak with Mount Collinson, and crosses Wan Cham Shan and Shek O Peak to reach D'Aguilar Peak in the south.
Dragon's Back, an undulating ridgetop trail between Wan Cham Shan and Shek O Peak, has been nominated as the Best Urban Hike in Asia by TIME Magazine. We will follow Stage 8 of the HK Trail, and if the weather's clear along the way we will have great views of Tai Tam Harbour, Stanley, Redhill Peninsula, Mount Parker, Mount Collinson, and Shek O.

Pace: 2.0 (regular hiker pace, with plenty of stops for picture taking)
