Saturday Grass Volleyball

ALL PLAYERS PLEASE READ BEFORE SIGNING UP TO EVENTS!!!!

Thank you for joining our weekly Honolulu Volleyball Club group event.

This is a mixed skill level group. Games may be played where all players reguardless of skill levels may be mixed together at times. However games WILL be played where the players of different skill levels will also be separated. This is to allow "advanced level" games where higher level advanced players can play at a more competitive and higher level. But this also allows the recreational players to still play for fun without the need to be super competitive. Our aim is to have balance where ALL players can hopefully have an enjoyable experience.

Players will be seperated by these skill levels

Recreational (Beginner)/Lower Intermediate

We ask all players to please RSVP for all events and to please answer the questions being asked at sign up. Although the RSVP section doesn't show it. This event will be attended by 75-100 peoole regularly. We basically will never turn players away and players who have not RSVP'd are still welcomed. However we actually do have limited space and "IF" by chance we run out of space due to high participation. Then first preference to play will be given to players that have signed up and RSVP'd if players are waiting to play due to not enough court space. Players who have not RSVP'd WILL HAVE TO WAIT TO PLAY until players that have RSVP'd have a chance to play first.

A group this big will have many different personalities, views, thoughts, and opinions. If you join us please be respectful to everyone and keep a good attitude. If Organizers or Hosts give instructions please follow them. Anyone causing problems or drama will be asked to leave. People with bad attitudes and/or are being disrespectful to others will be asked to leave and may be kicked out of the group. We will have little tolerance for people with poor attitudes and bad egos. We are all adults and young adults please act and carry your yourself accordingly.

While playing all players are asked to following all "basic" volleyball rules, regulations and etiquette. This includes staying out of the nets, not crossing under the net into the opposite side of the court, and allowing the person who is in the setting position (middle front row) to be responsible for the second contact unless they call for "help" to avoid collisions. Players should communicate among each other. These things are important and are with safety of players in mind. We want players to have fun but to be as safe as possible. SOMEONE GETTING HURT DUE TO RECKLESS AND DANGEROUS PLAY IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Players are strongly encouraged to play using 3 hits/contacts (pass, set, and hit). We discourage players who constantly hitting or dumping the ball on first or second contact (aka jungle ball) especially at the higher skill levels. We want to try to encourage long rallies and skillful play.

Players are also asked to please help with setup and break down of nets at the start or end of each event.

The Honolulu Volleyball Club group is still looking for donations to help cover our monthly group fees. Any donations will be used to directly pay for monthly Meetup fees. Monthly fees are about $15 a month. Any excess funds past needed monthly fees collected will be put back into group in some way, shape, or form. Probably in the form of new equipment. I want to say thank you to all the people that have already donated. Please consider continuing to donate to help "our" group. Donations are gladly accepted in person or through Venmo or Paypal. No set amount is needed. All donations no matter the amount are gladly accepted.
